As a mark of celebrating world oral health week and to spread dental health care awareness in the society,a series of events were conducted including free dental cum awareness camps at various places i.e, at Wow kids Preschool Bishnah and in the village Chak Avtara ,Bishnah,Jammu.In addition, Rangoli and Slogan writing competition was also organised in Department of Public Health Dentistry, IDS,Sehora Jammu.
People of different age groups were benefitted from these events where in a team of various doctors from the Institute conducted free oral health checkups along with giving demonstrations on brushing techniques.Message was spread through skit depicting essential steps required to take care of their oral health properly.
According to Dr. Esha Bali ,HOD, Public Health Dentistry,the main aim of these events was to lay emphasis on understanding the significance of dental health care and it stressed upon incorporating a healthy balanced diet along with maintaining a proper regular oral hygiene routine for attaining optimal dental health.
Appreciating the efforts of the Public Health Department,Dr Sarbjeet Singh,Principal IDS said that the Institute of Dental Sciences strives to serve the society in all possible ways and shall always keep doing so in the future as well.
