Sar-e-Mastan Tribal Gurjar Foundation celebrates First Tribal Pride Day at Krishan Chander Park, Poonch
Divisional Commissioner honoured the gathering as Chief Guest and District Devlopment Commissioner was Guest of Honour.
15Nov. 2021. Sar-e-Mastan Tribal Gurjar Foundation celebrated First Tribal Day at Krishan Chander Park with great enthusiasm. Thousands of Gujjar & Bakarwal attended the Conference thereby ensuring to strengthen the resolve the protect and promote the Tribal Culture & identity.
Worthwhile to mention that this is first of it’s Conference in the history of Poonch where Honourable Divisional Commissioner, Raghav Langar, was Special invitee and was Chief of Guest on the occasion.
The Conference was organised under the banner of Sar-e-Mastan tribal Welfare Foundation. Ch Asad Noomani, Chairman of the Foundation, remarked that it’s the prime responsibility of the gujjar Bakarwal community to protect and promote our culture and has ensured that his team will go to any extent to protect this age old culture and further unite the community with mainstream to promote the dignity and integrity of our great nation.
Various tribal commodities, artefacts and heritage items were showcased in the Conference and special programmes were held depicting one of the oldest culture through cultural items and Gojri Songs.
Chief Guest of the occasion, Honourable Divisional Commissioner, Raghav Langar, and DDC Poonch, Inder Jeet, were wrapped in Traditional Gojri Lungi. A memorandum was presented before Chief Guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Ch Asad Noomani, Chairman, Saremastaan, wholeheartedly thanked Union Government and Honourable LG, Manoj Sinha, for implementing Forest Rights Act and providing political reservations to Gujjar-Bakarwals in all the three tiers of Panchayati Raj Institutions. .
He further demanded that Reservation in Promotions may be implemented in letter in spirit thereby ensuring presence of officers of this marginalised community at the higher rung.
All the people presented on the occasion took oath to promote peace and strengthen unity and integrity of India.
Ch Ayaz Saif and Gulnaz Chouhan sung heart touching songs to amuse the gathering thereby winning much accolades.
Gujjar girls of GDC and Gujjar Hostel, Poonch presented group songs.
Welcome speech was presented by Head Master Lal Hussain Tedwa and Words of Thanks were given by Ch Farooq Tanha.
Gujjar Youth President Akhlaq Tabassam & Basharat Azeem also presented their views and promised to work more on continuous basis to further fight for the community.
Haji abdul rehman, Abdul razzaq khaki, tanveer Choudhary, Sarpanch Captain Sadiq, hafiz rayaz, warden Fareed Choudhary, BDC Chairman Ch Jameel Kohli, Sarpanch jaan bahadur, maroof bajjar and others put forward their views as well.
