A second dry run to vaccinate people against COVID-19 and plug loopholes in logistics and training was conducted on January 8 2020 in Associated hospital GMC Kathua. The first dry run was held on January 6 2020. The entire planning of the vaccination drive including beneficiary registration, microplanning and vaccination at the planned session site was tested under the leadership of worthy Principal GMC Kathua Dr Anjali Nadir Bhat, CMO Kathua Dr. Ashok K Choudhary, Medical Superintendent Dr Chitra Vaishnavi and Nodal Officers. During the dry run, over 25 health workers got dummy vaccine and were observed for 30 minutes as per national guidelines. This whole exercise was done to test the mechanisms and reveal possible gaps in the system ahead of the actual vaccination drive. India is in the final stages of preparation for the rollout of the Covid vaccine.
