1st successful Thyroid Surgery conducted in Bhaderwah Hospital

A team of specialist doctors of Sub District Hospital Bhaderwah on Tuesday conducted the first thyroid surgery in in Hospital. Dr Azma and Dr Asim ENT specialists and Dr Baba Ajaz neck surgeon said that “we admitted a 40 year old Thyroid patient resident of Bhaderwah last night and conducted a Thyroid surgery through 200 gm of skin crease incision across the front of the neck and removed 200 gm lobe of the Thyroid which is also called Thyroid Lobectomy.” They added that the surgery was conducted in three hours and Dr Shakeel along with theatre staff namely Abid Hussain , Amresh , Anam Tak and others also assisted in the surgery and operation . Block Medical Officer (BMO) Sub District Hospital Bhaderwah , Dr Hamid Zargar said that this was the first such surgery, which was conducted in the hospital.He said that in near future such surgeries will be conducted on normal bases only if specialists will be available here.Meanwhile, family of the patient hailed the efforts of doctors for making this surgery successful.“We are thankful to the Bhaderwah hospital administration for their efforts and for the quality services they provided,” said Advocate Mohd Majid Malik .
