Liquor Shops: Implementing guideline directives may take some time, says J&K Excise Department

While the Jammu and Kashmir Government as per the new guidelines have allowed the opening of liquor shops in orange zones, Jammu and Kashmir Excise Department said that implementation of these guidelines may take some time.
“Tomorrow or day after, wine shops have to open, but we will go through these guidelines and decision will be taken accordingly,” Rajeev Shravan, J&K Excise Commissioner said.
Mr Shravan said that implementing directives issued in the fresh guidelines may take some time adding, “our exercise of checking stock at liquor shops is still on, new rate list is required and only after when the department receives order from the government, shops will be allowed to open.”
