Financial aid of Rs.2.50 lacs out of Red Cross Fund provided to the affected families
Rajouri,May,05:Deputy Commissioner Rajouri,Mohammad Nazir Sheikh along with a team of officers of the district administration on Tuesday paid a visit to Potha area of Dhangri block of Rajouri district to assess the cattle loss due to thundering last night.
During his visit,the Deputy Commissioner took stock of the ground position of the loss of livestock due to the natural calamity.It was informed that as many as 157 cattle belonging to five families of the nomads lost their lives due to thundering that occured last night in the area.The DC interacted with the affected families and said that district administration Rajouri stands with them in this hour of grief and sorrow and every possible assistance would be provided.
He added that although it is impossible to fulfill the loss caused due the death of the livestock but district administration Rajouri shall provide all possible assistance to the affected families to mitigate their sufferings to some extent.Meanwhile the Deputy Commissioner handed over the cheque of fifty thousand to each of the affected families out of the Red Cross fund.
The concerned officers from revenue department have been directed to to start the process of completing required formalities so that the compensation in terms of loss of cattle damage could be provided to the affected families within the shortest possible time.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Additional SP,Liyaqat Choudhary,District Sheep Husbandry Officer,Dr.Sarfraz Naseem Chowdary, Tehsildar Rajouri,Sheraz Chowhan and Tehsildar Kalakote,Abdul Qayoom.
