Religious leaders not to be allowed to call religious gathering: Govt

Srinagar, Mar 26 : Government of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday passed strict directions to all Deputy Commissioner’s and SP’s and asked them to caution religious leaders not to call any public gathering.According to Agencies spokesperson of J&K government Rohit Kansal tweeted, “DC’s and SP’s advised to strictly caution all religious leaders NOT to call any gatherings. Public meetings a major source of social contact and spread of the virus”.It is pertinent to mention that authorities on Thursday locked down several Mosques, Shrines and Gurdwaras in Srinagar district to prevent any public gathering in wake of swelling number of COVID-19 suspect.
