Narcotic Drug Peddler Arrested in Awantipora

Awantipora: Continuing its drive against drug peddlers, Awantipora Police arrested a narcotic drug peddler during vehicular checking point laid at Brabandina crossing.

As per the official, the arrested person has been identified as Altaf Mir of Kawani Awantipora and has been involved in selling of narcotic substances in general area of Reshipora Awantipora.

Official said that “from the possession of the arrested person 01 Kg of powder suspected to be cannabis powder was recovered during his personal search from the bag he was carrying.”

A case FIR Number 32/2020 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Awantipora.

“General Public of Awantpora is requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in neighborhood area. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace. Person found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. General Public has applauded this act of Police,” official said.
