All Parents association Jammu protested at Jantar Mantar ,Delhi on 4th march 2020 regarding exuberant Fee hike by schools of jammu without obtaining the approval from the FFC and the parents association jammu expressed their resentment on the dilly dally approach adopted by the district administration of Jammu in this regard. Parents association jammu expressed that the FFC is adopting double standards in fixing the Fee structure of many schools for their own financial benefits. Amit kapoor said that now its the time of new session and admissions and the schools are charging exhorting 20-25% incresed fees in form of annual charge, admission charges etc to the parents at there own will which is totally unfair and not acceptable he requested state and centre govt. To look into the matter and take the necessary steps to curb this menace of organised loot by the pvt schools of jammu paremts are feeling helpless as the the state govt administration and private schools are not giving any heed towrds the hue and cry of the parents. He said parents association has lost all hopes from state administration thats why they chose to protest at jantar mantar delhi so that centre govt coulld listen to th genuine demands of the parents and intervene in the matter so that some relief can be provided to the ailing parents..
President of the association Mr. Amit Kapoor criticized the Govt. authorities for giving ample time to the private school managements to approach the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India to get the J&K High Court Order dated 18.03.2019 stayed, vide which the High Court had directed the private schools to refund the excess Fee along with interest @ 9% pa. He further questioned the mode of ascertaining the Fee structure for different schools and demanded that the yardsticks adopted for the said purpose should be made public so that the parents can also keep an eye on the terms & conditions on which Fee structure was approved and what facilities are being provided to the students in their holistic growth.
The association made a strong appeal to all the school managements of the private schools of the state, that after getting approval from the FFC, they should not pressurize the parents to pay whole of the precious months Fee in one go. parents association demanded that from the date of approval sought from the FFC, schools may collect Fee from that month only and regarding previous months fees, the adjustments shall be made after the final verdict of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in the matter of refund of Fees.
The parents association also endorsed the decision on the ground that the apex Court has only stayed the operation of the J&K High Court order dated 18.03.2019 and final decision in the form of an order on the refund of excess Fees is yet to come.
The association in strongest possible words warned those private schools which are trying to pressurize the association in one way or the other. He said that the cause of the association is one i-e to get some relief for the common people of the society from the high earning schools, so that they can also provide quality education to their deserving children he also said that the no one in Education department jammu took any action or gave any heed on our genuine demands we were left with no other option then to come to jantar mantar, delhi and protest here because we have high hopes from centre govt. That they will intervene in the matter and only centre govt. Can provide us with some relief from this loot of pvt schools and unethical behaviour of the Education department.
