Jammu, July 28: Coronavirus has disrupted the lives of people all over the world causing a slowdown. These unprecedented times have a trail of uncertainty for students about their careers, studies, and future.
The pandemic has impacted final year students, in more ways than one. Let’s find out how!
We’ve asked few 6th semester students regarding the challenges they are facing during these hard times. “Our exams are delayed due to pandemic going on these days. Due to this, we are not timely graduated and so we are not eligible for filling any government sector exams. Please take some necessary steps like mass promotion otherwise just change the eligibility criteria of various ongoing exams.” told Himika Padha of Integrated m.com of School of Social Sciences, Cluster University.
Another experience is shared by Grisham Sharma, 6th semester student of BBA of Cluster University about the ongoing problems. “The restrictions on 4G internet will remain in force till how long we actually don’t know. Earlier the authorities ensured to take action regarding the same and it is said to remain till 29th July 2020 but will be extended definitely. Even students aren’t able to attend online classes, get their study material. Moreover, the right to have access to the internet is part of the Fundamental Right to Education as well as the Right to Privacy under Article 21 of the Constitution. Is this the development and the bright future promised to us when article 35-A and 370 were abrogated? On 5th August 2019, Internet services were suspended in Jammu and Kashmir. Since then, restriction is in continuity. Is this how we’re promoting Online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic and Digital India?”
