Delhi Police Arrest Two Criminals Linked to Gangsters

The Delhi Police arrested two wanted criminals in a dramatic encounter in the Kapashera area on Friday. The suspects, identified as Akash Rajput and Mahipal, are both residents of Rajasthan and have alleged connections to foreign-based gangsters.

Officials confirmed that Rajput, 28, is wanted in numerous extortion and kidnapping cases spanning Haryana, Gujarat, and Rajasthan. The Rajasthan Police even announced a ₹20,000 bounty for information leading to his capture.

“Rajput played a significant role in a July 2022 firing incident outside a hospital in Assandh, Karnal, orchestrated by notorious gangster Daler Kotia. He is also implicated in a July 2023 abduction case in Gujarat, where the demand for a ₹100 crore ransom was made by another gangster, Kirit Singh Jhala,” an officer from the investigation team stated.

This incident highlights the ongoing efforts by Delhi Police to crack down on organized crime. Jhala recently associated himself with a syndicate represented by infamous gangsters, including Rohit Godara, Goldy Brar, and Virender Charan. This network has expanded its operations across the northern states, raising concerns about safety and law enforcement efficacy.

Mahipal also has an extensive criminal history, having been arrested previously in the Karnal firing case. After securing bail, he re-entered the criminal milieu and became active alongside Rajput.

In the course of the encounter, Rajput sustained a non-fatal bullet injury to his lower body. Medical personnel promptly rushed him to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police maintained that they are continuing their investigations, sifting through data to pinpoint any further connections that might arise from this incident.

The recent arrests reflect Delhi Police’s strategy to destabilize and dismantle the operations of foreign-based gangs that have gained notoriety for their vast criminal endeavors across India. Local residents express relief but remain apprehensive about what this means for their safety in the wake of violent crime associated with these syndicates.
