Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday once again addressed the farmers\u2019 protest issue which has been taking place across the country ever since the Parliament passed three contentious farm bill. Hitting out at the Opposition for spreading unrest amongst the farmers\u2019 community, PM Modi said people are opposing farm reform bills as yet another source of earning black money has been closed for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While addressing a video conferencing event to inaugurate 6 mega projects under Namami Gange in Uttarakhand, PM Modi once again reiterated that the agriculture reforms brought by his government will strengthen labourers, youth, women, farmers of the nation.\u201cSeveral reforms, related to farmers, labourers & health, were brought during the recently concluded Parliament session. These reforms will strengthen labourers, youth, women, farmers of the nation. But the nation can see how some people are opposing it just for the sake of it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
PM Modi also assured that farmers can now sell their produce to anyone, anywhere. \u201cBut when centre is giving farmers their rights, these people are opposing it. They don\u2019t want farmers to sell their produce in open market, they want middlemen to earn profit. They\u2019re opposing the freedom of farmers,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThey (Opposition parties) are insulting the farmers by setting fire to the machines and equipment that is worshipped by them. For years, they said that they will implement MSP but they never did. This was done by our govt as per the recommendation of the Swaminathan Commission,\u201d the Prime Minister said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cToday these people are misleading farmers over MSP. There will not only be MSP in the country but also the freedom for farmers to sell their produce anywhere. But some people are unable to tolerate this freedom,\u201d PM Modi said adding that their one more medium to earn black money is finished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFor years these people (opposition) didn\u2019t do anything to empower our security forces. Air Force kept asking for Rafale but they never listened to them. When our govt signed a contract with France Govt for Rafale aircraft they started having a problem,\u201d PM said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFour years ago, around this time the country\u2019s bravehearts carried out surgical strike & destroyed bases of terror. But these people (opposition) were demanding for evidence of surgical strike. By opposing surgical strike, they\u2019ve cleared their intention before the country,\u201d he added.\u201cWhen world was celebrating International Yoga Day, under India\u2019s initiative, they were oppoising Yoga in India. When Statue of Unity -made after Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel- was being unveiled, they were opposing it,\u201d PM Modi said pointing out that none of their tall leaders has visited Statue of Unity so far.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
