{"id":65506,"date":"2026-03-25T11:51:40","date_gmt":"2026-03-25T11:51:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/earlypostdaily.com\/index.php\/2026\/03\/25\/jk-ut-mens-hockey-championship-begins-in-jammu-after-three-year-gap\/"},"modified":"2026-03-25T11:51:40","modified_gmt":"2026-03-25T11:51:40","slug":"jk-ut-mens-hockey-championship-begins-in-jammu-after-three-year-gap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/earlypostdaily.com\/index.php\/2026\/03\/25\/jk-ut-mens-hockey-championship-begins-in-jammu-after-three-year-gap\/","title":{"rendered":"J&#038;K UT Men\u2019s Hockey Championship Begins in Jammu After Three-Year Gap"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;After a gap of three years, the J&amp;K UT Men\u2019s Hockey Championship commenced today at the <strong>KK Hakku Hockey Stadium<\/strong>, with participation of 17 teams from across the Union Territory.<\/p>\n<p>The championship was inaugurated by <strong>Nuzhat Gul<\/strong>, Secretary of the <strong>Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>On the occasion, <strong>Taran Singh<\/strong> welcomed the chief guest and other dignitaries, highlighting various initiatives undertaken by Hockey J&amp;K, including sub-junior tournaments and district-level competitions. He also informed that teams are gearing up for upcoming Sub-Junior Men and Women National Championships to be held in <strong>Rajgir<\/strong> and <strong>Ranchi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>A total of three matches were played on the opening day. In the first match, Jammu North registered a dominant 12-0 victory over Bandipora. <strong>Jotveer Singh<\/strong> and <strong>Kirandeep Singh<\/strong> scored three goals each, while <strong>Mankiran<\/strong> and <strong>Gurpreet<\/strong> netted two goals each. Rahul and Deepak contributed one goal apiece.<\/p>\n<p>In the second match, Anantnag defeated Rajouri by 5-1. <strong>Dar Saini<\/strong> scored a hat-trick, while Mbariz and Suzain added one goal each. Harmeet scored the lone goal for Rajouri.<\/p>\n<p>In the third match, Jammu South beat Srinagar 8-4. <strong>Surinder Singh<\/strong> and <strong>Karandeep Singh<\/strong> scored three goals each, while Manjeet Singh added two. For Srinagar, Rohan Preet Singh scored twice, while Sheikh Salman and Varun Preet Singh scored one goal each.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rajive Sharma<\/strong> presented the vote of thanks and reiterated commitment towards the development of hockey in the region.<\/p>\n<p>Among those present were <strong>Murti Gupta<\/strong>, <strong>Ravinder Singh<\/strong>, <strong>Kuldeep Handoo<\/strong>, <strong>B. S.
