{"id":64847,"date":"2026-01-20T08:06:51","date_gmt":"2026-01-20T08:06:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/earlypostdaily.com\/index.php\/2026\/01\/20\/nitin-nabin-formally-elected-bjp-national-president-succeeds-j-p-nadda\/"},"modified":"2026-01-20T08:06:51","modified_gmt":"2026-01-20T08:06:51","slug":"nitin-nabin-formally-elected-bjp-national-president-succeeds-j-p-nadda","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/earlypostdaily.com\/index.php\/2026\/01\/20\/nitin-nabin-formally-elected-bjp-national-president-succeeds-j-p-nadda\/","title":{"rendered":"Nitin Nabin formally elected BJP national president, succeeds J P Nadda"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Nitin Nabin<\/strong> was on Tuesday formally declared the <strong>national president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)<\/strong>, succeeding <strong>J P Nadda<\/strong> and ushering in a new leadership phase for the party as it seeks to further consolidate its political dominance across the country.<\/p>\n<p>The results of the BJP\u2019s organisational elections were announced by <strong>K Laxman<\/strong>, the party\u2019s Returning Officer, who also handed over the <strong>certificate of election<\/strong> to the 45-year-old leader at a ceremony held at the BJP headquarters here.<\/p>\n<p>Prime Minister <strong>Narendra Modi<\/strong>, outgoing BJP president <strong>J P Nadda<\/strong>, and senior party leaders and Union ministers <strong>Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari<\/strong>, among others, were present to witness the leadership transition.<\/p>\n<p>With his elevation, Nabin becomes the <strong>12th national president of the BJP<\/strong>, which was founded in <strong>1980<\/strong>\u2014the same year he was born\u2014making him the <strong>youngest leader to hold the party\u2019s top post<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>A low-profile and unassuming leader, Nabin had resigned from his position as <strong>Minister for Law and Justice, Urban Development and Housing in the Bihar government<\/strong> after being appointed the BJP\u2019s <strong>working president on December 14<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Announcing the election results, Laxman said the outcome reflected the BJP\u2019s internal democratic ethos.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cThis election shows that in the BJP, leadership emerges from hard work and dedication, not dynastic privilege,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing party workers on the occasion, Nadda described the moment as historic.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cToday is a very historic occasion as our young, energetic and talented Nitin Nabin takes charge as the national president of the world\u2019s largest political party.
