The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India, has approved the promotion of a number of AGMUT cadre Indian Police Service (IPS) officers of the Jammu and Kashmir segment<\/strong> to higher ranks, including three officers to the rank of Inspector General of Police (IGP)<\/strong>, eight to Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP)<\/strong>, besides granting Selection Grade to nine officers<\/strong> and Junior Administrative Grade (JAG) to six others<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Separate orders issued in this regard stated that all promotions will take effect from January 1, 2026, or from the date of assumption of charge, whichever is earlier<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Promotions to IGP Rank<\/strong><\/h3>\n

As per the order, the officers promoted to the rank of Inspector General of Police (Level-14)<\/strong> are:<\/p>\n

  • Tejinder Singh<\/strong>, presently posted as DIG Rajouri-Poonch<\/li>\n
  • Abdul Jabbar<\/strong> (on Central deputation)<\/li>\n
  • Udaybhaskar Billa<\/strong> (on Central deputation)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Abdul Jabbar and Udaybhaskar Billa have been granted proforma promotion<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
