The move marks a significant step toward expanding specialist dental education capacity in the region.<\/p>\n<p>At present, IGGDC admits <strong>17 postgraduate students<\/strong> annually. With the latest approval, <strong>four more seats<\/strong>\u2014one each in <em>Prosthodontics &amp; Crown &amp; Bridge<\/em>, <em>Conservative Dentistry &amp; Endodontics<\/em>, <em>Orthodontics &amp; Dentofacial Orthopedics<\/em>, and <em>Pediatric &amp; Preventive Dentistry<\/em>\u2014have been formally sanctioned.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>More Seats Under Consideration<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Official sources confirmed that a <strong>Dental Council of India (DCI) inspection<\/strong> is currently underway to evaluate the feasibility of <strong>seven additional seats<\/strong> across various specialities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf the DCI clears these seats, IGGDC will witness a total enhancement of <strong>11 seats<\/strong>\u2014seven regular seats plus four EWS quota seats\u2014from the 2026-27 academic session.
