The top court emphasized that it cannot intervene in matters affecting a large number of candidates based on individual grievances.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"565\" data-end=\"813\">A bench comprising <strong data-start=\"584\" data-end=\"609\">Justice P S Narasimha<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"614\" data-end=\"637\">Justice R Mahadevan<\/strong> noted that a <strong data-start=\"651\" data-end=\"708\">similar petition had been dismissed earlier this week<\/strong>, and reiterated that courts cannot interfere in large-scale examinations that involve lakhs of students.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"817\" data-end=\"1106\"><strong>\u201cWe have already dismissed identical matters,\u201d the bench observed. \u201cWe agree there might be multiple correct answers in some cases. But we cannot interfere in an examination that has been attempted by lakhs of candidates. This is not an individual\u2019s dispute \u2014 thousands could be affected.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1108\" data-end=\"1383\">The petition, filed by a NEET-UG 2025 aspirant, alleged an error in one of the questions and sought a correction in the answer key along with a <strong data-start=\"1252\" data-end=\"1270\">revised result<\/strong>. The petitioner also urged the court to <strong data-start=\"1311\" data-end=\"1351\">stay the ongoing counselling process<\/strong> until the dispute was resolved.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1385\" data-end=\"1539\">However, the Supreme Court maintained that it would not intervene in the matter, highlighting the potential consequences on the larger pool of candidates.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1541\" data-end=\"1797\">The <strong data-start=\"1545\" data-end=\"1594\">National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET)<\/strong> is conducted annually by the <strong data-start=\"1624\" data-end=\"1657\">National Testing Agency (NTA)<\/strong> for admission to undergraduate medical courses across India.
