Among those he met was <strong data-start=\"571\" data-end=\"595\">Vishwas Kumar Ramesh<\/strong>, the <strong data-start=\"601\" data-end=\"618\">sole survivor<\/strong> from the aircraft that crashed shortly after takeoff.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"674\" data-end=\"854\">The Prime Minister also interacted with medical professionals and staff at the hospital, expressing gratitude for their efforts and urging continued top-level care for the injured.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"856\" data-end=\"1147\">The tragedy unfolded on Thursday afternoon when <strong data-start=\"904\" data-end=\"930\">Air India flight AI171<\/strong>, a <strong data-start=\"934\" data-end=\"959\">Boeing 787 Dreamliner<\/strong>, crashed into the <strong data-start=\"978\" data-end=\"1059\">residential quarters of BJ Medical College and Civil Hospital in Meghaninagar<\/strong>, just minutes after taking off from <strong data-start=\"1096\" data-end=\"1146\">Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1149\" data-end=\"1211\">The ill-fated aircraft was carrying <strong data-start=\"1185\" data-end=\"1199\">242 people<\/strong>, including:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1212\" data-end=\"1355\">\n<li data-start=\"1212\" data-end=\"1238\">\n<p data-start=\"1214\" data-end=\"1238\"><strong data-start=\"1214\" data-end=\"1238\">168 Indian nationals<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1239\" data-end=\"1265\">\n<p data-start=\"1241\" data-end=\"1265\"><strong data-start=\"1241\" data-end=\"1265\">53 British nationals<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1266\" data-end=\"1294\">\n<p data-start=\"1268\" data-end=\"1294\"><strong data-start=\"1268\" data-end=\"1294\">7 Portuguese nationals<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1295\" data-end=\"1320\">\n<p data-start=\"1297\" data-end=\"1320\"><strong data-start=\"1297\" data-end=\"1320\">1 Canadian national<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1321\" data-end=\"1355\">\n<p data-start=\"1323\" data-end=\"1355\"><strong data-start=\"1323\" data-end=\"1355\">2 pilots and 10 crew members<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1357\" data-end=\"1537\">Among the dead were <strong data-start=\"1377\" data-end=\"1423\">former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1425\" data-end=\"1447\">four MBBS students<\/strong>, and the <strong data-start=\"1457\" data-end=\"1477\">wife of a doctor<\/strong>, who were caught in the devastation at the college complex.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1539\" data-end=\"1752\">Vishwas Kumar Ramesh\u2019s miraculous survival has offered a rare glimmer of hope in the face of the widespread destruction. Hospital officials described his condition as stable, and he is expected to make a recovery.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1754\" data-end=\"1971\">This horrific incident has left the nation in mourning, prompting condolences and emergency responses at the highest level.
