As the sacred Kheer Bhawani Mela approaches, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo<\/strong> on Wednesday visited the revered Mata Kheer Bhawani Temple<\/strong> in Tulmulla, Ganderbal<\/strong> to oversee final preparations for the annual pilgrimage, scheduled to take place on June 3<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

During his visit, Dulloo offered prayers at the shrine of Goddess Ragnya Devi<\/strong>, inspected arrangements on the ground, and held reviews with officials to ensure seamless facilities for thousands of devotees<\/strong>. Key areas inspected included sanitation, drinking water, electricity, accommodation, transport, and medical services.<\/p>\n

\u201cClose Coordination Is Crucial\u201d \u2013 Chief Secretary<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Emphasizing inter-departmental cooperation, Dulloo urged all civil and police departments to work in close coordination<\/strong> for the successful conduct of the festival. He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Jatin Kishore<\/strong>, Additional Deputy Commissioner<\/strong>, and several senior officers.<\/p>\n

Later in the day, Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat<\/strong> also visited the temple complex to review security arrangements<\/strong>. DGP Prabhat, who also paid obeisance at the shrine, assured that all logistical and security measures<\/strong> are in place for the safe movement and stay of pilgrims.<\/p>\n

Celebrations Across Five Temples<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Kheer Bhawani Mela will be observed at five prominent shrines of Goddess Ragnya Bhagwati<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

    Thousands Begin Spiritual Journey from Jammu<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Amid tight security, a convoy of 60 JKRTC buses<\/strong> carrying approximately 2,500 Kashmiri Pandit devotees<\/strong> left Nagrota, Jammu<\/strong> on Sunday morning for the Valley. The yatra was flagged off by IGP Jammu Bhim Sen Tuti<\/strong>, in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Sachin Kumar Vaishya<\/strong> and Relief Commissioner Dr Arvind Karwani<\/strong>, alongside senior officials.<\/p>\n

    The Jammu and Kashmir Government has made arrangements for pilgrims traveling from Delhi, Chandigarh, and Jammu<\/strong>, with accommodation and food provided en-route<\/strong>, including at Nagrota<\/strong> and Chandarkot<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    At Vessu transit camp in Anantnag<\/strong>, returning pilgrims were welcomed with warmth and festivities. \u201cWe are here to welcome our brothers and sisters. The administration has done a great job,\u201d said a camp resident.<\/p>\n

    A pilgrim shared his joy: \u201cWe were served food in Nagrota. The army helped us immensely. The arrangements have been excellent.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

    Voices of Faith and Hope<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    At the Tulmulla temple, pilgrims spoke of hope, unity, and nostalgia<\/strong>. \u201cWe want to live in Kashmir again, as we once did,\u201d said Chanda Dhar<\/strong>, her voice filled with emotion. \u201cWhen we return here, it feels like we never left. This is our home.\u201d<\/p>\n

    Junaid Ahmed Khadana<\/strong>, a local from Kangan, emphasized the spirit of communal harmony<\/strong> the festival embodies: \u201cThis mela is for everyone \u2013 Hindus and Muslims.
