Prime Minister Narendra Modi<\/strong> on Wednesday reached out to Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP)<\/strong> leader Ghulam Nabi Azad<\/strong>, following the veteran politician\u2019s sudden illness during an official diplomatic visit to Kuwait<\/strong>. Azad is currently under medical supervision and in stable condition, according to official sources.<\/p>\n

PM Modi personally called Azad to enquire about his health and wished him a speedy recovery<\/strong>, acknowledging his key role in India\u2019s international outreach efforts to counter terrorism propaganda emanating from Pakistan.<\/p>\n

Azad, a former Union minister, is part of a multi-party Indian delegation<\/strong> tasked with conveying India\u2019s zero-tolerance policy on cross-border terrorism<\/strong> to key global partners. The delegation is currently on a diplomatic tour across West Asia and North Africa<\/strong> following the recent India\u2013Pakistan military face-off.<\/p>\n

Azad\u2019s Diplomatic Impact Recognized<\/strong><\/h3>\n

BJP MP Baijayant Jay Panda<\/strong>, who is leading the delegation that includes Azad, confirmed on Tuesday that the DPAP leader is under observation and recovering well. \u201cHis contributions to our meetings in Bahrain and Kuwait<\/strong> were highly impactful,\u201d said Panda. \u201cHe is disappointed at being bedridden but remains committed to India\u2019s message.\u201d<\/p>\n

The delegation has been engaging leaders and officials in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain<\/strong>, and Algeria<\/strong>, underscoring India\u2019s position as a victim of cross-border terrorism<\/strong>, especially in the wake of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack<\/strong> that left 26 dead.<\/p>\n

India Launches Global Anti-Terror Campaign<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The government had dispatched seven multi-party delegations<\/strong> to world capitals in response to the four-day military escalation<\/strong> with Pakistan in early May, part of Operation Sindoor<\/strong>, aimed at neutralizing terror infrastructure. These efforts are also intended to counter Pakistan\u2019s international narrative<\/strong>, which seeks to portray India as the aggressor.<\/p>\n

The delegations, comprising leaders from across party lines, are delivering a unified national message\u2014India stands firm on zero tolerance for terrorism<\/strong>, and will no longer accept cross-border provocations in silence.<\/p>\n

Strategic Diplomacy Amid Crisis<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Azad\u2019s presence in the delegation was seen as crucial, given his experience and diplomatic stature. Officials described his speeches in Bahrain and Kuwait as \u201cresonant and well-received.\u201d<\/p>\n
