India\u2019s top sports personalities, including Olympic heroes Neeraj Chopra<\/strong> and PV Sindhu<\/strong>, and cricket superstar Rohit Sharma<\/strong>, have come out in strong support of the country\u2019s armed forces following precision strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan.<\/p>\n

The armed forces launched Operation Sindoor<\/strong> on Wednesday, targeting nine terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, including the strongholds of Jaish-e-Mohammed<\/strong> in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba<\/strong> in Muridke.<\/p>\n

The strikes were in response to last month\u2019s Pahalgam massacre<\/strong>, where 26 people, mostly tourists, were killed. Pakistan retaliated by targeting 15 Indian cities, prompting India to swiftly thwart the attacks, including drone and missile strikes in Jammu<\/strong> and Pathankot<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Voices of Support from Sporting Stars<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Rohit Sharma, writing on X, praised the armed forces:<\/p>\n

\u201cWith every passing moment, with every decision taken I feel extremely proud of our Indian Army, Indian Airforce & Indian Navy. Our warriors are standing tall for our nation\u2019s pride. It\u2019s important for every Indian to be responsible and refrain from spreading or believing any fake news. Stay safe, everyone! #OperationSindoor #JaiHind.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Neeraj Chopra, a double Olympic medallist, echoed the sentiment:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are proud of our Brave Indian Armed Forces who are fighting for our nation against terrorism. Let\u2019s do our part and make sure to follow guidelines to ensure everyone\u2019s safety during this time.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cricket Fraternity Joins In<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The escalating tensions also impacted sports, with Thursday\u2019s IPL match between Punjab Kings<\/strong> and Delhi Capitals<\/strong> in Dharamsala called off due to air raid alerts. The BCCI<\/strong> has since suspended the league indefinitely.<\/p>\n

Former opener Virender Sehwag<\/strong> did not hold back his criticism of Pakistan:<\/p>\n

\u201cWar has been chosen by Pakistan when they had an opportunity to keep quiet. They have escalated to save its terrorist assets, speaks so much about them. Our forces will reply in the most appropriate manner, a manner Pakistan will never forget.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Former India batter Shikhar Dhawan<\/strong> also expressed solidarity:<\/p>\n

\u201cRespect to our brave hearts for protecting our borders with such strength and stopping the drone attack on Jammu. India stands strong. Jai Hind.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

World Cup-winner Kris Srikkanth<\/strong> and former wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel<\/strong> both urged the nation to rally behind the armed forces, calling for unity and prayers.<\/p>\n
