Amid public concern following the temporary closure of the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway<\/strong>, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, V.K. Bidhuri<\/strong>, has assured the people of adequate availability of essential commodities<\/strong> \u2014 including petrol, diesel, LPG, and food grains \u2014 across the Valley.<\/p>\n

\ud83c\udf5a Food Supplies Stable for Over a Year<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Speaking to reporters in Srinagar<\/strong>, Bidhuri emphasized that the administration has buffer stocks of food grains that can last for more than a year<\/strong>, ensuring that no shortage is anticipated<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is no need to worry. We are well-stocked with food grains, with strategic reserves in place,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/p>\n

\ud83d\udee2\ufe0f Fuel and LPG Supplies Sufficient<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\u2705 LPG<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Bidhuri confirmed that LPG supplies<\/strong> are in good shape, with seventeen days of stock<\/strong> currently available.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople should not resort to panic-buying. We have sufficient LPG in advance,\u201d<\/em> he clarified.<\/p>\n

\u2705 Diesel<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The Valley consumes about 1,000 kilolitres of diesel daily<\/strong>, and currently holds 12,500 kilolitres<\/strong> \u2014 enough for 12\u201313 days<\/strong>, even with the highway temporarily shut.<\/p>\n

\u2705 Petrol<\/strong><\/h4>\n

On petrol availability<\/strong>, Bidhuri noted that Kashmir\u2019s daily consumption is around 625 kilolitres<\/strong>, and the administration has secured nearly 10,000 kilolitres<\/strong>, ensuring stability for over 15 days<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe situation is absolutely under control. There is no fuel crisis,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\ud83d\udeab Appeal Against Panic Buying<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Divisional Commissioner made a direct appeal to the public<\/strong>, urging people to refrain from panic-buying or hoarding<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is no need to line up at petrol pumps. Let\u2019s not create fear or inconvenience ourselves and others,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/strong><\/p>\n
