  • “<\/em>This is a very big disaster \u2014 it is actually a national disaster,”<\/em> Dr. Abdullah stated while speaking to reporters at a local function.<\/strong><\/li>\r\n \r\n \t
  • “Entire villages have been destroyed. Three people have died, and the full scale of the damage is still unfolding.”<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n \r\n\r\nThe NC leader emphasized the need for the relocation and rehabilitation<\/strong> of families whose homes were obliterated by the calamity. He further revealed that another cloudburst<\/strong> occurred nearby, tragically claiming two more lives<\/strong>.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n

    \ud83d\udcac \u201cFix Canals, Prevent Future Disasters\u201d<\/h3>\r\n \r\n\r\nAddressing the issue of recurring disasters in the region, Abdullah stressed the urgency of proper water management systems<\/strong>, including the repair of nullahs (canals)<\/strong> to ensure streamlined flow and minimize future risks.\r\n\r\n \r\n

    • \u201cThe entire mountain has collapsed. People cannot live there anymore; they must be shifted to safer places,\u201d<\/em> he warned.<\/strong><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n \r\n\r\n

      \ud83d\udea7 Jammu-Srinagar Highway in Crisis<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n \r\n\r\nDr. Abdullah drew attention to the fragile condition<\/strong> of the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway<\/strong>, the only all-weather route connecting the Valley to the rest of India.\r\n\r\n \r\n

      • \u201cThe highway has been badly impacted. Had the train been operational, people would have had a safer option,\u201d<\/em> he lamented, noting that poor weather even delayed the Prime Minister\u2019s scheduled inauguration.<\/strong><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n \r\n\r\nHe strongly advocated for alternate routes and tunnel projects<\/strong>, including a tunnel through Doda<\/strong> and another on the Mughal Road<\/strong>, to decrease dependency<\/strong> on the existing highway\r\n\r\n \r\n

        \u26a0\ufe0f Drug Menace: \u201cA War We Must Win\u201d<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n \r\n\r\nRaising alarms over the increasing drug abuse<\/strong> in Jammu and Kashmir, Abdullah called it a grave threat<\/strong> to the region\u2019s youth.\r\n\r\n \r\n

        • \u201cDrugs are destroying our children and pushing our future into darkness. We must fight a strong and uncompromising war against this menace,\u201d<\/em> he declared.<\/strong><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n \r\n\r\nHe also pointed to Pakistan\u2019s alleged involvement<\/strong> in narco-terrorism<\/strong>, urging stringent action against those complicit in smuggling and distribution within the region.\r\n\r\n \r\n

          • \u201cWe know there are insiders involved. They must be caught and punished severely,\u201d<\/em> he insisted.<\/strong><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n \r\n

            \ud83c\uddee\ud83c\uddf3 On Statehood & Party Unity<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n \r\n\r\nRemaining optimistic, the NC chief said he was confident that J&K\u2019s statehood will be restored<\/strong>, citing Parliament\u2019s commitment<\/strong>.\r\n\r\n \r\n

            • \u201cWe will get our powers and statehood back. It has been promised, and it will come,\u201d<\/em> he affirmed.<\/strong><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n \r\n\r\nRegarding internal party differences<\/strong>, particularly after recent remarks by Srinagar MP Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, Dr. Abdullah brushed off speculation, terming it an internal matter<\/strong>.\r\n\r\n \r\n
