The prestigious event, held in collaboration with the <strong data-start=\"449\" data-end=\"487\">Association of Indian Universities<\/strong>, brings together over <strong data-start=\"510\" data-end=\"531\">1200 top athletes<\/strong> representing nearly <strong data-start=\"552\" data-end=\"572\">150 universities<\/strong> from across the country.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"599\" data-end=\"942\">The inaugural ceremony was presided over by <strong data-start=\"643\" data-end=\"715\">Vice Chancellor of the University of Kashmir, Professor Nilofer Khan<\/strong>. Prominent dignitaries in attendance included <strong data-start=\"762\" data-end=\"826\">VC of Central University of Kashmir, Professor Ravinder Nath<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"828\" data-end=\"872\">VC of IUST, Professor Shakeel A. Romshoo<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"878\" data-end=\"941\">VC of Cluster University Kashmir, Professor Mohammad Mubeen<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"944\" data-end=\"1211\">In his address, Minister Satish Sharma lauded the University of Kashmir for hosting a tournament of such scale and importance. \u201cThis championship is not just a display of strength, but a powerful symbol of <strong data-start=\"1150\" data-end=\"1200\">inclusivity, equality, and sporting excellence<\/strong>,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1213\" data-end=\"1619\">He added that the enthusiastic participation of athletes reflects the <strong data-start=\"1283\" data-end=\"1320\">growing commitment and discipline<\/strong> among India&#8217;s youth toward fitness and competitive sports. \u201cPowerlifting,\u201d he noted, \u201cis more than just a physical contest\u2014it&#8217;s a <strong data-start=\"1451\" data-end=\"1515\">test of inner resilience, mental strength, and determination<\/strong>. It teaches us that even the heaviest burdens can be overcome with perseverance and consistent effort.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1621\" data-end=\"1990\">Highlighting the government\u2019s focus on the development of sports, Sharma stated that <strong data-start=\"1706\" data-end=\"1749\">Jammu and Kashmir has seen a resurgence<\/strong> in sporting activities in recent years.
