Chief Minister Omar Abdullah<\/strong> has emphasized that militancy in Jammu and Kashmir<\/strong> cannot be eliminated without the active support of the people. Speaking to reporters outside the Assembly, he reiterated that while security is primarily a Union Government responsibility, his administration is committed to assisting in maintaining peace across the Union Territory.<\/p>\n

\ud83d\udde3\ufe0f \u201cMilitancy cannot be defeated without the people\u2019s support. Our Government is making every effort to help the Lieutenant Governor keep the situation under control.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Omar\u2019s remarks come in the wake of an ongoing anti-terror operation in Sanyal<\/strong>, near the International Border in Hiranagar<\/strong> sector of Kathua district.<\/p>\n
