Jammu, March 2025:<\/strong> Sat Sharma, President of J&K BJP,<\/strong> launched a sharp attack on the National Conference (NC) Government<\/strong> for its negligence in promoting Divyang talent<\/strong> in Jammu & Kashmir. He accused the NC-led administration of engaging in blame politics<\/strong> instead of honoring athletes who bring pride to the region and nation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jahangir\u2019s Achievements Ignored by J&K Government<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Sharma highlighted the achievements of Jahangir, a young Divyang athlete from Kashmir<\/strong>, who won two medals (silver and bronze)<\/strong> at the Special Olympics World Winter Games 2025<\/strong> held in Italy.<\/strong> He pointed out that while the Union Government supported the athlete<\/strong>, the NC-led J&K Government failed to acknowledge his success.<\/strong><\/p>\n

India\u2019s Success at Special Olympics World Winter Games 2025<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Sharma further noted that a team of 30 talented competitors<\/strong> representing India at the event won a total of 33 medals<\/strong> under the leadership of Dr. Mallika Nadda, President of Special Olympics Bharat.<\/strong> However, he criticized the J&K Government for its lack of support<\/strong>, stating that no official representative<\/strong> was present at IGI Airport in Delhi<\/strong> to welcome the winners upon their return.<\/p>\n

Call for Recognition and Support<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Urging the J&K Government to take immediate action<\/strong>, Sharma demanded:<\/p>\n

  • Recognition of Jahangir\u2019s achievements<\/strong> at the state level.<\/li>\n
  • Better facilities, training, and infrastructure<\/strong> for Divyang athletes.<\/li>\n
  • Promotion of Divyang sports<\/strong> to encourage more talent.<\/li>\n
  • Implementation of initiatives similar to \u2018Khelo India\u2019<\/strong> to foster a strong sports culture in J&K.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Sharma reiterated that under the Modi Government<\/strong>, India has made significant strides in promoting sports and inclusivity.<\/strong> He called upon the NC Government to step up and support its athletes<\/strong> rather than engage in political blame games.<\/p>\n
