However, Nair and Malewar counterattacked brilliantly, consuming <strong data-start=\"502\" data-end=\"520\">414 deliveries<\/strong> in a gritty fourth-wicket stand that turned the tide in the hosts&#8217; favor.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"598\" data-end=\"1076\">Just when it seemed Nair was set for a hundred, a <strong data-start=\"648\" data-end=\"672\">poorly judged single<\/strong> ended his innings. His innings, filled with elegant strokes, saw him score <strong data-start=\"1508\" data-end=\"1532\">14 fours and 2 sixes<\/strong>, with the bulk of his runs coming in the <strong data-start=\"1574\" data-end=\"1599\">midwicket and long-on<\/strong> regions.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1612\" data-end=\"1935\">Earlier, Kerala\u2019s bowlers <strong data-start=\"1638\" data-end=\"1681\">exploited the green-top wicket expertly<\/strong>. <strong data-start=\"1683\" data-end=\"1705\">MD Nidheesh (2\/33)<\/strong> was particularly impressive, using the fresh grass to extract movement off the surface.
