Alongside other <strong>BJP MLAs<\/strong>, he had previously approached the <strong>court<\/strong>, alleging that the <strong>AAP government<\/strong> was preventing the tabling of <strong>14 Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports<\/strong> on its performance. Confirming his nomination, he pledged to table the <strong>pending CAG reports<\/strong> before the <strong>House<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Congratulatory Remarks from CM Rekha Gupta<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Chief Minister <strong>Rekha Gupta<\/strong>, while addressing the <strong>first Assembly session<\/strong> of the <strong>eighth Vidhan Sabha<\/strong>, congratulated Mr. Gupta.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI have full faith this Assembly will run smoothly under your guidance,\u201d<\/em> she said.<\/p>\n<p>She also acknowledged his tenure as <strong>Leader of the Opposition (LoP)<\/strong>, highlighting the challenges he faced, including being <strong>marshalled out multiple times<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Opposition\u2019s Allegations and Speaker\u2019s Response<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Following his election, <strong>Leader of the Opposition and AAP MLA Atishi<\/strong> accused the <strong>BJP government<\/strong> of removing photos of <strong>B.R. Ambedkar<\/strong> and <strong>Bhagat Singh<\/strong> from the <strong>Chief Minister\u2019s Office<\/strong> post-election, calling it an <em>\u201canti-Dalit and anti-Sikh\u201d<\/em> move.<\/p>\n<p>During the <strong>AAP government\u2019s tenure<\/strong>, photos of both <strong>Ambedkar<\/strong> and <strong>Bhagat Singh<\/strong> were installed in <strong>key government offices<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Reacting to the <strong>allegations<\/strong>, Speaker <strong>Vijender Gupta<\/strong> opposed the <strong>Opposition\u2019s behavior<\/strong>, asserting that the <strong>AAP MLAs<\/strong> would have ample opportunity to speak, but any <strong>unruly conduct<\/strong> would not be tolerated.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIf the opposition doesn\u2019t behave appropriately, I will be forced to give a first warning. If you do not comply, we will not take it lightly. I request you to maintain the decorum of the first Assembly session on its very first day,\u201d<\/em> he stated.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Political Composition of the Eighth Delhi Assembly<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The <strong>BJP<\/strong> holds a <strong>majority<\/strong> in the newly constituted <strong>eighth Delhi Assembly<\/strong>, with <strong>48 MLAs<\/strong>, while the <strong>AAP<\/strong> has <strong>22 legislators<\/strong>.
