Taking to X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi shared, \u201cHad a very good meeting with Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley of Barbados. Our talks covered areas such as science and technology, healthcare, education, climate change, and agriculture.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He further stated, \u201cI am grateful to the Government and people of Barbados for conferring the Honorary Order of Freedom of Barbados Award. This honor is dedicated to the people of India.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Barbados PM Mia Amor Mottley described PM Modi\u2019s visit as a \u201chistoric moment\u201d for CARICOM nations, emphasizing the significance of the India-CARICOM Summit. Speaking to the media, she noted, \u201cIt is a historic moment for most of us in CARICOM to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the level of Heads of Government.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
PM Mottley also recalled their earlier interactions at the UN General Assembly, highlighting the growing strength of ties between the two regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
India and Barbados share a close and cordial relationship, engaging actively through the UN, Commonwealth, NAM, and other international platforms. A statement from India\u2019s Ministry of External Affairs acknowledged Barbados\u2019s consistent support for India\u2019s candidature on multilateral platforms, including UN elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
