New Delhi, Nov 15<\/strong>: On the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary<\/strong> of Birsa Munda<\/strong>, the legendary tribal leader and freedom fighter, Union Home Minister Amit Shah<\/strong> unveiled a statue of Munda at the entrance of Baansera Park<\/strong> on Ring Road<\/strong> in New Delhi. The event also marked the launch of a year-long celebration<\/strong> dedicated to the tribal community, with the period from November 15, 2023, to November 15, 2025<\/strong> officially designated as \u201cAadiwasi Gaurav Din\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his address, Amit Shah<\/strong> reminded the gathering that in 2021<\/strong>, Prime Minister Narendra Modi<\/strong> had announced that November 15<\/strong> would be observed annually as \u201cAadiwasi Gaurav Din\u201d<\/strong> to honor the memory of Bhagwan Birsa Munda<\/strong>, who was born on this day in Jharkhand<\/strong>. This year, the government is celebrating his 150th birth anniversary<\/strong> with a series of events to acknowledge the contributions of tribal communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOn the occasion of Bhagwan Birsa Munda\u2019s 150th birth anniversary, we are announcing that the entire year, starting today until November 15, 2025, will be celebrated as Aadiwasi Gaurav Din,”<\/strong> Shah said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Home Minister further elaborated on Birsa Munda’s legacy<\/strong>, dividing his life into two key contributions: his tireless efforts to protect tribal culture<\/strong> and his supreme sacrifice<\/strong> in the fight for India\u2019s independence. At the young age of 25, Munda’s leadership and courage left a lasting impact on the nation, a story that continues to resonate even after 150 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
