Patna, Sept 28, 2024: Union Minister and BJP President J.P. Nadda, speaking at a felicitation event for Para-Olympians at the state BJP office, emphasized the BJP-led NDA government\u2019s commitment to improving sports infrastructure and opportunities for Indian athletes. Nadda highlighted the government’s increased financial support for the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, which has tripled during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He stated, “The budget for the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has increased threefold, reaching Rs 3,342 crore in the current financial year. The government is providing world-class training, equipment, and coaching in 34 sports disciplines.” Nadda praised PM Modi for consistently advocating the betterment of sports and player facilities, citing the government’s initiatives as key contributors to India’s remarkable achievements at the Olympic, Para-Olympic, and other international sporting events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nadda also noted the government’s efforts to foster a sporting culture through various initiatives, including the Khelo India program, which aims to promote sports excellence nationwide. “Out of the 1,000 Khelo India centres planned, 715 are already operational, pushing for a mass movement to promote sports in the country,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Later in the day, Nadda is scheduled to meet with party leaders, including MPs, MLAs, MLCs, and other leaders at the state BJP office.
