He emphasized that the government is committed to ensuring no student is disadvantaged. The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the NEET-UG results on June 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere is no evidence of a paper leak in NEET-UG. The allegations of corruption in the NTA are unfounded; it is a highly credible body. It conducts exams for more than 50 lakh school students annually, in addition to higher education exams,\u201d Pradhan stated after assuming his role as Union Education Minister for the second time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His remarks came on the same day the NTA informed the Supreme Court that the decision to award grace marks to 1,563 candidates in NEET-UG was canceled. These candidates will have the option to take a re-test on June 23.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIf these candidates do not wish to take the re-test, their previous marks, excluding the grace marks, will be used for the results. The grace marks awarded earlier were based on a Supreme Court formula, not on the whims of the NTA. If there are any anomalies, they will be corrected to ensure no student is at a disadvantage,\u201d Pradhan explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The NTA has faced criticism over allegations of irregularities and mark inflation in the NEET-UG exam. In response, the Education Ministry established a four-member panel last week to review the grace marks awarded to the 1,563 students, which were intended to compensate for delays in starting the exam at certain centers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe panel, chaired by former UPSC chairman Pradeep Kumar Joshi and including the National Medical Commission (NMC) secretary among others, thoroughly reviewed each grievance before making its recommendations,\u201d Pradhan added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Tuesday, the Supreme Court noted concerns about the integrity of NEET-UG 2024, a claim denied by the NTA.
