The party emphasized that only a government representing the INDIA bloc can achieve significantly more inclusive economic growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During a rally in Rajasthan on Sunday, Modi insinuated that a Congress-led government would redistribute wealth to &#8220;infiltrators&#8221; and families with more children, referencing former PM Manmohan Singh&#8217;s statement regarding the minority community&#8217;s claim on national resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In response, the Congress accused Modi of resorting to &#8220;lies&#8221; and &#8220;hate speech&#8221; to deflect attention from pressing issues, following perceived setbacks in the initial phase of the Lok Sabha polls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh highlighted on X, &#8220;The Prime Minister will never tell you that: More than 40% of the wealth created in the country from 2012 to 2021 has gone to just 1% of the population.&#8221; Additionally, he pointed out that approximately 64% of the total GST revenue is contributed by the poor, lower middle class, and middle class segments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ramesh alleged that a disproportionate amount of public assets and resources sold over the past decade benefited only a select few companies, leading to increased economic monopolization and inflation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moreover, he underscored the stark wealth disparity in India, with 21 billionaires collectively possessing more wealth than 70 crore Indians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ramesh reiterated the necessity for faster, more inclusive, and ecologically sustainable economic growth, emphasizing that only a government aligned with the INDIA bloc can deliver on these fronts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New Delhi, Apr 23 : The Congress escalated its criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi&#8217;s recent &#8216;redistribution of wealth&#8217; comment, asserting that he fails to acknowledge that over 40 percent of the country&#8217;s wealth generated between 2012 and 2021 went to just one percent of the population.
