Srinagar, Feb 09: Sub-zero temperatures continued in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday with Srinagar recording a low of minus 4.8\u00b0C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A meteorological department official here told GNS that while the temperature in Srinagar was slightly higher than previous night\u2019s minus 5.2\u00b0C, it was below normal by 4.4\u00b0C for the summer capital of J&K for this time of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Qazigund recorded a minimum of minus 6.4\u00b0C, same as on the previous night, he said. The minimum temperature was 4.9\u00b0C below normal for the gateway town of Kashmir, the MeT official said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pahalgam recorded a low of minus 10.3\u00b0C against minus 11.9\u00b0C on the previous night and it was 4.1\u00b0C below normal for the famous resort in south Kashmir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kokernag, also in south Kashmir, recorded a minimum of minus 5.0\u00b0C against minus 4.5\u00b0C on the previous night and the temperature was below normal by 3.0\u00b0C for the place, the official said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kupwara town in north Kashmir recorded a low of minus 44.9\u00b0C against minus 4.5\u00b0C on the previous night and it was 2.9\u00b0C below normal there, the official said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gulmarg, the official said, recorded a low of minus 9.0\u00b0C against minus 12.0\u00b0C on the previous night and the temperature was below normal by 2.3\u00b0C for the world famous skiing resort in north Kashmir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jammu, he said, recorded a minimum of 5.3\u00b0C and it was below normal by 4.2\u00b0C for the winter capital of J&K.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Banihal recorded a low of 2.0\u00b0C, Batote 3.3\u00b0C and Bhaderwah minus 1.6\u00b0C, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Regarding the forecast, the MeT official said that weather is expected to be dry till February 17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOverall, dry weather is expected till February 17 with occasionally cloudy evening during February 14.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Regarding the outlook during February 18-20, he said, there is possibility of light snow and rain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
