Armed Forces Flag Day, observed on December 7 every year, pays tribute to martyrs and expresses gratitude to soldiers protecting the nation&#8217;s integrity and sovereignty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha paid his respects to the martyrs and expressed gratitude to the men and women in uniform who valiantly and selflessly defend the country&#8217;s honor, integrity, and sovereignty. The Lt Governor appealed to all citizens to generously contribute to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund for the welfare and rehabilitation of ex-servicemen, Veer Naris, and martyrs&#8217; families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;In J&amp;K, the Armed Forces play a crucial role in combating terrorism to create a safe and secure environment for people. It is our collective responsibility to look after the families of martyrs who have sacrificed their lives for the country,&#8221; the Lt Governor said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Brig. Gurmeet Singh Shan, Director, Sainik Welfare Department, J&amp;K, pinned the Armed Forces Flag on the Lt Governor&#8217;s jacket.
