New Delhi, November 7 :<\/strong> As the voting process commenced for the first phase of the Chhattisgarh polls, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday reiterated the party’s “assurances” to the people, urging them to reinstate the party’s “reliable” government in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Voting got underway on Tuesday morning in the initial phase of the Chhattisgarh assembly elections, with a robust security presence of police and paramilitary personnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a Hindi post on X, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge stated, “Chhattisgarhiya sable badhiya! Today, the first phase of voting has begun in the Chhattisgarh state. We appeal to every voter, especially the youth who are voting for the first time, to cast their votes.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We have full confidence that the good governance in Chhattisgarh will persist, and trust in democracy will remain intact,” he affirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In another Hindi post on X, Rahul Gandhi encouraged voters, saying, “When you cast your vote, remember, bring back Congress’ dependable government to Chhattisgarh.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Congress’s commitments to Chhattisgarh include: farmers’ loan waivers; procurement of 20 quintals\/acre of paddy; Rs 10,000\/year for the landless; Rs 3,200 Minimum Support Price (MSP) on paddy; Rs 6,000\/sack for tendu leaves; Rs 4000\/year bonus for Tendupatta; 200 units of free electricity; Rs 500 subsidy on gas cylinders; free education from KG to PG; free medical treatment up to Rs 10 lakh; housing for 17.5 lakh families; and a caste census.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Whatever we promise, we deliver,” asserted the former Congress president.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a Hindi post on X, Priyanka Gandhi also reiterated the Congress’s commitments to the people of Chhattisgarh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The brothers and sisters of Chhattisgarh have faith in the Congress’s commitments. We have delivered. We have transformed Chhattisgarh into a model of development,” stated the Congress general secretary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Bring back the trustworthy Congress government once again in Chhattisgarh,” urged Priyanka Gandhi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Voting commenced at 7 am in 10 of the 20 assembly constituencies where elections are taking place in the first phase and was set to conclude at 3 pm. Polling in the remaining 10 seats in the first phase started at 8 am and was scheduled to end at 5 pm, as per an official announcement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this initial phase, covering 20 out of the total 90 assembly seats, 223 candidates, including 25 women, are contesting, with 40,78,681 eligible voters according to the electoral rolls.
