In Chikkaballapur district, samples were collected from six different areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Zika virus was identified in mosquitoes from Talakayalabetta village in Sidlaghatta taluk. Promptly responding to this development, health authorities have initiated preventive measures to contain the virus&#8217;s potential spread.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Special meetings have been convened by health authorities, and officials have been provided with clear directives to manage the situation effectively from the outset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A total of 30 pregnant women and seven individuals displaying symptoms of fever have had their blood samples collected and sent for testing in Bengaluru. These samples were obtained from villages located within a five-kilometer radius of Talakayala Betta village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Health officers personally visited locations like Venkatapura, Dibburahalli, Bachchanahalli, Vaddahalli, among others, to assess the situation. Chikkaballapura District Health Officer Mahesh Kumar confirmed the presence of the Zika virus in Chikkaballapura district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Approximately 5,000 individuals in the region are being closely monitored by health authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Zika virus is transmitted by mosquitoes and can lead to symptoms such as fever, rash, headache, joint pain, red eyes, and muscle pain.
