NSS Unit-1 of Government College for Women (GCW), Gandhinagar, Jammu, organized a vibrant and spirited “Kalash Yatra” Rally on 10-10-2023 as part of the “Meri Matti Mera Desh”Phase-2 Campaign, aimed at fostering a sense of unity, patriotism, and environmental consciousness among the community.
The rally commenced at College premises and proceeded through prominent thoroughfares of Gandhinagar brandishing Kalash (pot) with name of NSS Unit filled with soil, symbolizing a deep-rooted connection with the motherland.During the rally, the participants raised awareness slogans like \u201cRashtriya Ekta ka Sandesh Meri Matti Mera Desh\u201d to preserve natural resources, and nurturing a clean and green nation.
Finally the NSS Volunteers along with Prof Mala Bhasin NSS Programme Coordinator, CLUJ and NSS PO Prof Sugandha Mahajan handed over the Kalash to Prof Minu Mahajan, Principal of the college to hand it over to District Magistrate.The Principal expressed her gratitude to all the NSS Volunteers and acknowledged their dedication and enthusiasm in making the “Kalash Yatra” rally a great success. She commended the students for their proactive engagement in initiatives that promote social welfare and environmental consciousness.
