{"id":4159,"date":"2020-05-14T07:26:21","date_gmt":"2020-05-14T07:26:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/earlypostdaily.com\/?p=4159"},"modified":"2020-05-14T07:26:22","modified_gmt":"2020-05-14T07:26:22","slug":"shah-faesals-detention-extended-by-three-months-under-psa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/earlypostdaily.com\/index.php\/2020\/05\/14\/shah-faesals-detention-extended-by-three-months-under-psa\/","title":{"rendered":"Shah Faesal\u2019s Detention Extended by Three Months Under PSA"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His detention was extended barely hours before it was to come to an end on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Agencies<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Srinagar, May 14:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Jammu and Kashmir administration has extended the detention of former IAS officer-turned-politician Shah Faesal under the controversial Public Safety Act (PSA) by three months, an official said on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Faesal, who has been under detention after scrapping of Jammu and Kashmir\u2019s special status, was booked under the PSA in February this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His detention was extended barely hours before it was to come to an end on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The PSA has two sections, \u2018public order\u2019 and \u2018threat to the security of the state\u2019. The former allows detention for three months which can be extended to a year and the latter for two years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Faesal was stopped from taking a flight to Istanbul at the Delhi airport during the intervening night of August 13 and 14 last year and flown back to Srinagar, where he was detained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The former bureaucrat from Jammu and Kashmir had floated the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement party after resigning from the Indian Administrative Service (IAS).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>His detention was extended barely hours before it was to come to an end on Wednesday.
