The disclosure came after Northern Railways General Manager, Shobhan Chaudhuri, personally inspected the ongoing developments of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Railway Line (USBRL) project in the Katra-Banihal section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During his extensive visit to Jammu and Kashmir, Chaudhuri, accompanied by Chief Administrative Officer S.P. Mahi, Director R.K. Hegde, and other high-ranking officials of USBRL, reviewed the progress of the project. Mahi briefed the team on the status of the overall 272-kilometre railway project, informing them that 161 kilometres of railway tracks have already been commissioned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite facing numerous challenges of a geological, topographical, and meteorological nature, Mahi stated, &#8220;The remaining 111-kilometre-long Katra-Banihal section has been completed up to 95%.&#8221; This achievement marks a significant milestone for the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chaudhuri&#8217;s inspection began from Katra and continued with a thorough examination of the tunnel T1, where he scrutinized the progress and conducted a comprehensive review with the officials and the agency.
