22-5-22\u00a0 : Braham Jyot Satti , Senior leader BJP and Incharge BJP OBC Morcha Jammu Kashmir\u00a0 issued a press statement and appreciated the ban of 2000 currency notes in India and said it is also a surgical strike on corruption and termed this ban as another Master stroke by our Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his statement he said Rupees 2000 notes were introduced to stabilize the currency by government of India after after scrapping of old 1000 and 500 notes but some money hunger and corrupt people dumped huge number of 2000 currency notes and now these notes are totally out of rotation which is a serious issue .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said now these corrupt people will understand that Central Government is serious in this issue and they will deposit their saved 2000 currency notes in banks as a result of which notes will be rotation again . But 2000 currency notes has completed their life span and they should be totally banned . <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Stating the reasons behind the RBI\u2019s decision, He also shared details about the exchange facility available to citizens. He termed the opposition’s attack as desperate and to stock fear among the public and said same strategy has been employed by the opposition to spread rumours about the covid 19 vaccine during the pandemic . <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said The RBI started printing the \u20b9 2,000 note in November 2016 after Prime Minister Narendra Modi scrapped high-value \u20b9 1,000 and \u20b9 500. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said In order to ensure operational convenience and to avoid disruption of regular activities of bank branches, exchange of \u20b9 2,000 banknotes into banknotes of other denominations can be made up to a limit of \u20b9 20,000 at a time at any bank starting from May 23, 2023 . <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said that The central bank said people can deposit or exchange for lower denomination notes till September 30 for up to \u20b9 20,000 at a time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said About 89 per cent of the \u20b9 2,000 denomination banknotes were issued prior to March 2017 and are at the end of their estimated lifespan of four-five years. The total value of these banknotes in circulation declined from \u20b9 6.73 lakh crore at its peak as on March 31, 2018 (37.3 per cent of notes in circulation) to \u20b9 3.62 lakh crore constituting only 10.8 per cent of notes in circulation on March 31, 2023 . <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said Our Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s every decision is backed with meticulous planning and detailing, and the people across the country acknowledge the same, as these decisions are always in the best interests of the common people of our country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
