Srinagar, May 9: The Meteorological department in Jammu and Kashmir has forecasted predominantly dry weather for the next 24 hours, accompanied by an increase in daytime temperatures. While a brief spell of rain and thunderstorms cannot be entirely ruled out in some areas during the late afternoon or evening, the chances are relatively low.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The weather pattern is expected to remain mainly dry from May 10 to May 12, with a noticeable rise in temperatures and warmer days ahead during this period. However, from May 13 to May 15, isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir might experience rain and thunderstorms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In terms of temperature, Srinagar recorded a low of 6.3\u00b0C, slightly lower than the previous night, and 4.4\u00b0C below the summer capital’s normal range. Qazigund, the gateway town of Kashmir, witnessed a low of 5.8\u00b0C, which was 3.4\u00b0C below normal. Pahalgam, a popular tourist resort in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, registered a low of 1.8\u00b0C, 3.7\u00b0C below normal. In Kupwara town, the temperature settled at 4.7\u00b0C, indicating a deviation of 4.6\u00b0C below normal for the north Kashmir region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kokernag reported a low of 4.0\u00b0C, 5.2\u00b0C below normal, while Gulmarg, the renowned skiing destination in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, recorded a low of minus 0.5\u00b0C, 5.7\u00b0C below normal. Jammu, the winter capital of J&K, witnessed a low of 17.4\u00b0C, 5.6\u00b0C below normal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Other areas also experienced below-normal temperatures: Banihal at 4.8\u00b0C below normal by 6.1\u00b0C, Batote at 7.8\u00b0C below normal by 5.0\u00b0C, Katra at 14.5\u00b0C below normal by 5.2\u00b0C, and Bhaderwah at 4.0\u00b0C below normal by 4.0\u00b0C.
