{"id":35653,"date":"2023-04-04T05:47:43","date_gmt":"2023-04-04T05:47:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/earlypostdaily.com\/?p=35653"},"modified":"2023-04-04T05:47:44","modified_gmt":"2023-04-04T05:47:44","slug":"rains-drench-jk-more-likely-till-april-6","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/earlypostdaily.com\/index.php\/2023\/04\/04\/rains-drench-jk-more-likely-till-april-6\/","title":{"rendered":"Rains drench J&amp;K, more likely till April 6"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Srinagar, April 4: A spell of light to moderate rain drenched Jammu and Kashmir even as the weather department predicted intermittent precipitation and thunderstorm will continue at most places of Kashmir and at isolated places of Jammu on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A meteorological department official here told GNS that in last 24 hours till 0830 hours today, Srinagar received 5.2mm of rain, Qazigund 4.8mm, Pahalgam 6.5mm, Kupwara 19.5mm, Kokernag 5.0mm, Gulmarg 10.8mm, Jammu 29.0mm, Baniha 24.8mm, Batote 18.8mm, Katra 15.0mm, Bhaderwah 11.8mm and Kathua 9.2 mm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Regarding the forecast, he said, intermittent rain and thunderstorm may continue at most places of Kashmir and at isolated places of Jammu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On April 5-6, he said, there was possibility of a brief spell of rain at scattered places of J&amp;K towards late afternoon and evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From April 7-12, he said, mainly dry weather (60-70% chance) was expected in the entire J&amp;K.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The weather department also urged farmers to avoid spraying orchards till April 6 and maintain proper drainage to drain out excess water in fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, the MeT official said that Srinagar recorded a low of 6.9\u00b0C against 7.9\u00b0C on the previous night and it was 0.5\u00b0C above normal for the summer capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Qazigund, he said, recorded a low of 6.4\u00b0C against 5.1\u00b0C on the previous night and it was 1.3\u00b0C above normal for the gateway town of Kashmir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pahalgam, he said, recorded a low of 3.2\u00b0C against 3.0\u00b0C on the previous night and it was 1.5\u00b0C above normal for the famous tourist resort in south Kashmir\u2019s Anantnag district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kokernag recorded a low of 5.4 \u00b0C against 5.2\u00b0C on the previous night and it was 0.3\u00b0C above normal for the place, the officials said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gulmarg recorded a low of minus 0.5\u00b0C against 0.5\u00b0C on the previous night and it was 0.3\u00b0C above normal for the world famous skiing resort in north Kashmir\u2019s Baramulla district, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Kupwara town, he said, the mercury settled at 4.4\u00b0C against 7.2\u00b0C on the previous night and it was 0.8\u00b0C below normal for the north Kashmir area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jammu recorded a low of 17.1\u00b0C against 16.3\u00b0C on the previous night. It was 3.9\u00b0C below normal for J&amp;K\u2019s winter capital, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Banihal, he said, recorded a low of 6.5\u00b0C (below normal by 0.5\u00b0C), Batote 7.3\u00b0C (below normal by 1.6\u00b0C), Katra 11.5\u00b0C (3.0\u00b0C below normal) and Bhadarwah 6.2\u00b0C (0.6\u00b0C below normal).
