{"id":3334,"date":"2020-03-31T05:55:52","date_gmt":"2020-03-31T05:55:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/earlypostdaily.com\/?p=3334"},"modified":"2020-03-31T05:55:54","modified_gmt":"2020-03-31T05:55:54","slug":"centre-extends-till-30-june-validity-of-driving-licences-that-expired-since-1-feb","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/earlypostdaily.com\/index.php\/2020\/03\/31\/centre-extends-till-30-june-validity-of-driving-licences-that-expired-since-1-feb\/","title":{"rendered":"Centre extends till 30 June validity of driving licences that expired since 1 Feb"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\n<strong>New Delhi:<\/strong> The Centre on Monday extended till June 30 \nthe validity of documents like driving licences, permits and \nregistration that expired since February 1, in a move to ensure \nhassle-free transportation of cargo amid the lockdown over the novel \ncoronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In an advisory to all states and Union territories, the Ministry of \nRoad Transport and Highways has asked them to treat such documents as \nvalid till June 30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The decision was taken to facilitate the citizens facing difficulties\n in renewing the validity of various documents related to the Motor \nVehicles Act and the Central Motor Vehicles Rules due to nationwide \nlockdown in the country and closure of government transport offices, \naccording to the advisory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It requested all states to &#8220;treat documents under MV Act &amp; Rules,\n whose extension of validity could not or not likely be processed due to\n lock-down and which have expired since 1st of February, 2020 or would \nexpire by 30th of June 2020, as valid till 30th of June 2020.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The documents include fitness, permit (all types), driving licence, \nregistration or any other concerned document under the Motor Vehicles \nAct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It pointed out that the government had provided for the availability \nof the essential goods and production, and had allowed the vehicles for \nthe transport of such goods\/cargo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ministry requested all states to implement the advisory in \n&#8220;letter and spirit&#8221; so that the people and transporters and \norganisations rendering essential services do not get harassed and face \ndifficulties. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>This story has been published from a wire agency feed without modifications to the text.
