Amid outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, Divisional Commissioner\/ \nSecretary Transport UT Ladakh Saugat Biswas issued advisory regarding \nmovement of trucks and tankers carrying essential commodities via Zojila\n pass from March 29.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The order reads that only one driver and a helper will be allowed with each of the loaded trucks and tankers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Medical camp with screening facilities will be established at \nMeena-Marg by the District Administration Kargil, trucks carrying food \nand vegetables items for Kargil District will be escorted in double \nescort system from Meena-Marg to be organized by the IGP Ladakh, the \norder reads further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe trucks carrying food grains of FCI will terminate at FCI Central\n Godown, Kargil. Assistant Labour Commissioner Kargil will provide \nrequired labour force for offloading the trucks at Khri Sultan Cho \nStadium Bemathang, out of the registered labour force available\u201d, the \norder reads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Vehicles coming to Leh will be allowed to move in a convoy and will \nbe escorted under a double escort system to be organized by the IGP \nLadakh. The convoy will not stop anywhere other than at the designated \ncamps en-route to Leh. These designated camps will be established by the\n respective District Administrations at Meena-Marg, Wakha and Likir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
IGP Ladakh will facilitate separate Police escorts for smaller \nconvoys. On arrival at Leh, the trucks carrying food items including \nvegetables will terminate at Choglamsar distribution depot. The trucks \nand tankers carrying food grains of FCI and POL will terminate at FCI \nCentral Godown, Leh and IOCL\/ HPCL Depots respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, in a move to inculcate the importance of containment \nperiod more seriously, the District Administration of UT Ladakh has \ntaken a step by sticking \u2018home quarantined\u2019 stickers at the doors of the\n house owners who are required to stay under home quarantine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Amidst all concern regarding essential commodities during the \nlock-down period, District Administration Leh, under the supervision of \nthe Deputy Commissioner Leh Sachin Kumar Vaishya, facilitated \ndoor-to-door delivery of essential commodities, medicines and \ndistribution of ration among labours\/daily wagers across the district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
