Cabinet Secretary, Rajiv Gauba on Thursday held a video conference \nwith Chief Secretaries of all States\/Union Territories to review supply \nchain management and transportation of essential commodities and \nservices in and out of the State\/UTs during the lockdown period as \nannounced by the Prime Minister to deal with the Coronavirus outbreak. \nThe meeting was also attended by Home Secretary, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, \nSecretary Health, Preeti Sudan and other Secretaries of concerned \nMinistries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chief Secretary, BVR Subrahmanyam, Director General of Police, Dilbag\n Singh, Financial Commissioner, Health, Atal Dulloo, Principal \nSecretary, Home, Shaleen Kabra, Principal Secretary, Planning, Rohit \nKansal, Commissioner  Secretary, Industries & Commerce, Manoj  \nDwivedi, IGP Jammu, Mukesh Singh, Secretary, FCS&CA, Simrandeep \nSingh, Mission Director NHM, Bhupinder Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Jammu,\n Sushma Chauhan and Commissioner JMC, Avny Lavasa participated in the \nvideo conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cabinet Secretary while interacting with Chief Secretaries of the \nStates\/UTs sought details from them with regard to the implementation of\n lockdown and arrangements put in place for maintenance of supply chain \nand transportation of essential goods\/services as already notified by \nthe Government of India. He said it is imperative to successfully \nimplement the notified lockdown\/restrictions, but at the same, it is \nnecessary to ensure the unhindered transportation\/supply of essential \nservices, which have been exempted under the various prohibitory orders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cabinet Secretary commended the States\/UTs for implementing the \nlockdown restrictions seriously. He asked them to further sustain the \nrestrictions in an effective manner for the period as the partial \nimplementation will not solve the problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While referring the issue of trucks being stranded in many States, \nthe Cabinet Secretary said that the District Magistrates be asked to \nensure that the trucks carrying essential goods\/medicines\/perishable \nitems should not be stopped and be allowed to reach their destinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Considering the rise in the confirmed coronavirus cases in the \ncountry, the Cabinet Secretary asked all States\/UTs to upgrade their \nhospitals\/infrastructure with the resources available with them. He \nemphasized that at least, one Government hospital should be fully \nequipped with doctors, staff and equipments to tackle Covid-19 and that \nhospital should be a dedicated health facility exclusively for treating \npatients having infected with the virus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later, Chief  Secretary reviewed the stock position of essential \nsupplies available in the Union Territory and asked Secretary FCS&CA\n to ensure that supply is not affected anywhere because of the \nrestrictions imposed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commissioner Secretary, Industries & Commerce and Secretary \nFCS&CA were directed to ensure that only industrial units involved \nin manufacturing of pharmaceuticals\/essential items are allowed to carry\n out their operations and permission to such units be given accordingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
