{"id":2369,"date":"2020-03-11T06:06:57","date_gmt":"2020-03-11T06:06:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/earlypostdaily.com\/?p=2369"},"modified":"2020-03-11T06:06:58","modified_gmt":"2020-03-11T06:06:58","slug":"ku-vc-prof-talat-ahmad-delivers-lecture-at-ugc-hrdc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/earlypostdaily.com\/index.php\/2020\/03\/11\/ku-vc-prof-talat-ahmad-delivers-lecture-at-ugc-hrdc\/","title":{"rendered":"KU VC Prof Talat Ahmad delivers lecture at UGC-HRDC"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Srinagar<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vice-Chancellor, University of Kashmir Prof Talat Ahmad delivered a  lecture on \u201cRise of the Himalayan mountains and Climate Proxies\u201d at  UGC-Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) of the University of  Kashmir during the ongoing 84th General Orientation Course that is being  attended by 40 Assistant Professors of various colleges and  universities of J&amp;K<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prof Talat Ahmad dwelled at length upon how the Himalayas came into being and how they are impacting the climate change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In his lecture, he deliberated upon plate tectonic framework and the \nprobability of earthquakes in the Indian subcontinent in general and \nKashmir Himalayas in particular.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prof Talat Ahmad threw light upon how the earth\u2019s climate has been \nmoderated within limits through geological time and why has the earth \nbeen cooling over the past 50 million years when the plate movements \nhave not actually accelerated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prof Talat Ahmad emphasized that humans cannot control nature, \ntherefore, there should be no unnecessary fiddling with nature.
