The School Education Department has issued advisory for all \ngovernment and private schools in J&K with strict instructions to \nthe school heads for taking precautionary measures to control the \noutbreak of novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The advisory has been issued in the wake of the recent outbreak of Coronavirus in many countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cClass teachers should be alert to any child with signs and symptoms \ni.e. fever, cough and difficulty in breathing and should immediately \ninform the parents to have the child tested,\u201d reads an advisory issued \nby Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAsk the parents not to send the child back to school till advised by the treating doctor,\u201d it reads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The advisory states that teachers, school staff and students should \nbe advised about public health measures of hand wash and respiratory \nhygiene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWash hands frequently and thoroughly with soap and water or use \nalcohol based hand sanitizer, even when hands are visibly clean,\u201d the \nadvisory reads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cEveryone should cover their mouth with a tissue\/handkerchief (or \ntheir sleeves if tissues are not available) when they cough or sneeze \nand wash their hands afterwards,\u201d it reads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The advisory has been issued a day after Ministry of Human Resource \nDevelopment (MHRD) issued an advisory to all schools, CBSE and Chief \nSecretaries of states to spread awareness among students on the \npreventive and other measures against the coronavirus outbreak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The DSEK advisory as asked the students not to touch their eyes, nose\n and mouth. \u201cEveryone should throw away used tissues in bins and wash \nhands after contact with coughing\/sneezing,\u201d it reads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The school heads have been asked to keep available adequate quantity of sanitizers\/cleaners in schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAny student or staff member with travel history to any COVID-19 \naffected country or in contact with such persons in last 28 days, should\n be monitored and home quarantined for 14 days,\u201d the advisory reads ,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Anybody with symptoms fever, cough or difficulty in breathing should \ncall 24X7 helpline numbers of Health and Family Welfare department at \n9419010363 or 911942440283 or visit public health facility with a mask \nor mouth covered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, the Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) has \nissued a separate advisory and asked the Chief Education Officers (CEOs)\n to direct heads of institutions of government and private schools to \ntake necessary measures of cleanliness as well as awareness among \nstudents to control Coronavirus menace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cObserve good personal hygiene. Cover mouth & nose with bent \nelbow or tissue while sneezing or coughing. Stay away from school when \nsick,\u201d reads the advisory issued for students enrolled in schools of \nJammu division.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The DSEJ has also asked the students and teachers to stay away from \npublic gatherings. \u201cDon\u2019t go in close contact any one, if you are \nexperiencing cough or fever,\u201d it reads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The students have been advised not to spit in public and avoid \ntravelling to farms or live animal markets where animals are \nslaughtered,\u201d it reads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Any child with signs and symptoms of fever, cough and difficulty in \nbreathing should be referred to authorised local medical authority. \n\u201cParents of the concerned child should be immediately contacted,\u201d it \nreads.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
