The death toll in Delhi\u2019s violence rose to 46 on Monday as the situation remained tense but peaceful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While 38 have been reported dead at the Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, \nthree at Lok Nayak Hospital, four at Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital and \none at Jag Parvesh Chander Hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Four bodies were fished out from the drains in Gokalpuri and Shiv Vihar areas of the violence-affected northeast area on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Panic had gripped the residents of several parts of the national \ncapital on Sunday evening following false rumours of violence, even as \nthe Delhi Police and AAP leaders denied any incident and appealed people\n to remain calm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cA rumour has been noticed that there is some tension in \nKhyala-Raghubir Nagar area of West District. There is no truth behind \nit. All are requested to keep calm as the situation is absolutely normal\n & peaceful,\u201d Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) West Deepak \nPurohit said on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThere are some rumours regarding some communal tension in Tilak \nNagar and Khyala areas. It is intimated that there is no tension in \nTilak Nagar and Khyala and the whole west district area. Nothing to \nworry about,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The DCPs of some police districts and station house officers (SHOs) \nof police stations took to Twitter to assure people that their areas \nwere peaceful and normal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) also shut down the entry and exit gates of seven metro stations but later reopened them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tilak Nagar MLA Jarnail Singh too urged people to remain calm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI reached at the site as soon as I heard of the rumour of riots, \nshops were shut people were in a state of panic but no one saw any riots\n happening. It was a conspiracy to spread rumours and spoil the \natmosphere.
