Jammu: Congress is committed to fight the politics of hate and divisiveness and promote harmony in the society. This was stated by JKPCC Working President Raman Bhalla while interacting with Congress Seva Dal Chief for J&K UT Vijay Sharma newly appointed office bearers of Seva Dal at Booth level and state level on Saturday. Prominent among those present on the occasion include Manzoor Ahmed, Shehzad Qazi, Rajesh Kumar, Rahul Sharma, Javed Ahmed, Nazir Zahoor Din, Gh Abaas Rather, Atif Rather. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking on the occasion, Bhalla said that Congress stands for unity in diversity which is basic strength of our nation. “Those parties who create hatred and division for vote bank politics, are threat to the unity and integrity of the nation,\u201d he said adding that Congress Seva Dal is disciplined wing of the party, which has to spread the ideology and programmes of the party aimed at bringing unity and brotherhood in our multi religious, multi lingual and multi-cultural society. He said Seva Dal shall play an important role in the party and the society to defeat the communal and fundamentalist forces in Jammu and Kashmir elsewhere in the country. He congratulated the new office bearers and asked them to carry the message of Congress party and its leadership of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and AICC Seva Dal Chief Lal Desai. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bhalla asked the Seva Dal cadres to inculcate discipline amongst them and party men and spread the ideology of the party. The Congress party and its Wings have to counter the false propaganda against the Congress party and its leadership which have a history of sacrifices for the nation, he said.He said that BJP and its sister organizations are spreading hatred and falsehood against the Congress party to distort history for future generations. Congress Seva Dal has to reach out to the masses with the real history of struggle and sacrifices by the Congress party for the nation and build a discourse for the politics of development, progress based on communal harmony and peace.The party has to effectively counter the divisionary tactics of BJP for vote bank politics in the Country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bhalla further said that Congress has always raised the suppressed voices of the people while traditional political parties remained mute spectators to the then prevailing situation.He said the people of J&K no longer trust the emotional blackmailing and false promises that are being currently raised by BJP to lure people for mere electoral gains.\u201cIf BJP would have sincerely cared for the welfare of the local populace, then J&K would not have been lagging behind in developmental progress. However, Congress has stood firmly against the tide and became the people\u2019s voice while the BJP leaders maintained an agonizing silence & forsook the people at a time when they needed them the most,\u201d he said. A cursory look at the developmental index of J&K manifests how BJP leaders have breached the public trust and have utterly failed in their electoral promises so far,\u201d he remarked.He said that Congress is committed to truthful politics and will always refrain from emotive and hollow sloganeering. \u201cOur party does not believe in double speak. It has been the history of our party to call a spade and spade. We don\u2019t believe in ambiguity and have desisted from obscure politics,\u201d he said, while taking a dig on BJP Govt\u2019s policies and programmes in J&K. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bhalla said Congress is committed to an equitable development of all the regions and sub regions of Jammu and Kashmir. BJP promised the moon and the stars to the people of J&K from time to time. BJP leaders have innovated different slogans just for their electoral gains. But let me tell you in most lucid terms that the elections in J&K are purely meant for developmental goals and Congress will never shy away from speaking this truth to the people, how bitter it may sound,\u201d he remarked. He said that people still admire sincerity and transparency of Congress while unfortunately such traits were never adopted by the BJP in J&K. BJP has often made towering claims that were never meant to be fulfilled. However, they are acting complacent to its huge ramifications while blatantly playing with the public sentiments. Congress is resolute to bring in people towards the mainstream politics through propagating its development-based agenda at the grassroots level,\u201d he observed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bhalla said that Congress has always been a development oriented political platform that has sincerely expressed its areas of thrust since 1885. \u201cThe party has always focused on progressive issues that concern the prosperity and wellbeing of the people as we stand committed for an equitable development of all the region of J&K without resorting to emotive sloganeering or false promises,\u201d he added.He expressed concern over the deplorable condition of basic amenities in J&K which has made the lives of the people miserable. The people generally have complaints about lanes, poor drainage system, unscheduled power cuts, and irregular water supply in the area which has added to the routine issues,” he said. To hear and mitigate the problems of masses, Congress has started its reach out programme to masses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bhalla said Congress will leave no stone unturned in highlighting & getting resolved the genuine problems of people from the concerned authorities on priority basis as well he explained in depth the policies and programmes of Congress. He also appealed people to come forward and strengthen the hands of Congress as this is the only party who believes in the politics of truthfulness, transparency and has completely dedicated itself to the cause of people of Jammu and Kashmir.Bhalla also urged party workers to carry the mission of the party’s policies and programmes to the grass root level and aware the people about it.He appealed the people to come forward and join Congress for the sake of development, peace, progress and prosperity which has become the need of the hour. He further resolved to carry on such outreach programmes for strengthening the party base in every nook and corner in J&K. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bhalla said that Jammu has witnessed huge setbacks due to the revocation of statehood by the BJP Government including the seizing of jobs, land, and the suppression of political and civil rights. The economy has also suffered immensely due to the Government\u2019s irrational policies and decisions. Therefore, it is high time that the Centre keeps its promise of giving back statehood so that people can exercise their political rights by choosing a democratic Government. The Centre should accept the demand for restoration of statehood to J-K in the interest of the Constitution and democracy, he stated.Launching a scathing attack on the Government, he further added that without a dedicated Government elected by the people Jammu and its people are being neglected and overlooked. The Centre is not coming to look after the mohallas of Jammu, he said. And for a credible election exercise, complete statehood is a must. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
